Antioxidant Capacity of Salix alba (Fam. Salicaceae) and Influence of Heavy Metal Accumulation

In this study, we analyzed and compared the concentrations of selected metals/metalloids antioxidant response Salix alba L. (white willow) bark in highly polluted area around Kosovo A B thermal power plants. The capacity was evaluated terms total phenolics, flavonoids, chlorophylls, carotenoids, while metal content soil willow by ICP-OES (inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy). Additionally, samples presented values 12,191.6 Ca, 1306.0 Mg, 123.1363 Mn. phenolic 39.292 GAE g?1 DW, being 28.222 CE DW 38.099 FW CHLa, 49.240 CHLb, 94.976 CAR. results study indicate that contains significant amounts compounds, strong positive moderate negative correlations are revealed between compounds iron, phenolics nickel manganese, respectively.
